Polaris
is our Junior Herd Sire and the full brother to the 1st place Junior
Yearling at the 2002 ADGA National Show, Hill's
Acres GXY Cassiopeia. And yes, he, Cassiopeia, Andromeda and Special
Delivery (owned by Pam and Benny Green of the Green Gardens herd in
Oklahoma), are the four members of the quad delivery at the 2001 ADGA
National Convention in Portland, OR. Please let us take this
opportunity to give special thanks to Dr. LeeAnn Fosdick and Dr. Susan
Kerr for bringing this buck and his sibblings into the world. We are
truly grateful and they send a note of thanks too. Of the four kids,
Polaris has shown the most promise being the longest and levelest.
Cassiopeia is giving him a good run for his money, but he has been the
most consistent in all of his growing stages. He must grant to
Cassiopeia smoothness of blending however, for she is about the smoothest
blended doe this herd has ever made.
Polaris is an extremely dairy buck, especially long in
the area of the loin, with very open ribbing and flatness of bone.
He demonstrates his length of bone throughout-from his long, lean neck to
his long, lean tail! One of his admirable qualities is his rump, not
only is it long from hips to pins but it is very flat and level from thurl
to thurl. He is straight legged, both fore and rear, with proper set
and angulation to his legs and strong pasterns. And of course, he
has lot's of our trademark brown and white spots.
He was taken to only one show, two rings, and was first
and Junior Champion in both with his brother, Special Delivery, right
behind him. We are using Polaris quite heavily this year, as we are
anxious to see what cards he is holding for us. We hope to see his
length, open ribbing and level topline in his kids and oh-h-h yeah, his/our
trademark spots!
